I Still Really Love You

Creative Strategy

I Still Really Love You is an album cover design built around themes of love, vulnerability, memory, and emotional fragmentation. The central visual combines a delicate butterfly with broken pieces of glass, creating a contrast between beauty and something damaged or incomplete. The dark, textured composition and subtle blue highlights give the artwork a raw and atmospheric character. The typography and imagery work together to create an emotional visual identity that reflects the feeling behind the album.

Challenge:

The challenge was to visually communicate the emotional complexity of love without relying on overly literal imagery. The artwork needed to balance tenderness with a sense of heartbreak, while keeping the composition visually striking and memorable. Another challenge was combining the fragile butterfly with broken glass in a way that felt intentional rather than purely decorative. The design also needed to maintain strong readability and hierarchy while preserving its dark, artistic mood.

Solution:

We created a conceptual composition where the butterfly represents love, beauty, and emotional attachment, while the broken glass represents pain, distance, and fractured memories. A dark monochromatic base with subtle blue accents was used to create depth and an introspective atmosphere. Handwritten-style typography adds a personal and intimate quality to the album title, reinforcing the emotional message. The final artwork creates a visually expressive album identity where every element contributes to the story of holding onto love despite everything being broken.
